Note: Born in Great Russell Street, Bloomsbury. She painted chiefly subjects of child life which she depicted with much feeling and refinement. She began to exhibit at the Society of Artists in 1868 and her works also appeared in the Royal Academy and at the Society of Lady Artists of which she was a member. She was an industrious worker, and had already gained a position as an artist, when her death at the age of 23, on the 30th November 1875, terminated her short but promising career.
